The base measurement that you will work with will be 10 feet of .028″ diameter with r404A. This base will handle a load of ~150 watts of heat. For every 15 watts extra you will cut a foot and for 15 less you will add a foot. Once you have the proper length for your heat output, you will adjust for your gas. For r290 and r22 you will shorten by a foot. For r12 you will shorten by 3 feet. For r134a you will shorten by 4 feet. Now that you have your length, you can adjust for diameter. If you are using .028″ tube, you are done, however if you are using .026″ tube, multiply by .7. If you are using .031″ tube, multiply by 1.6.
