I had the same issue and did a quick comparison of both from the stats on this page:

Here are my scribbles that were of most importance imho:

samsung -- read, write throughput
samsung -- minor-less sound
samsung -- write, read access time
WD -- minor-windows vista startup
samsung -- minor-temp
WD -- application loading
samsung -- power req(idle too)
WD -- IO

WD did better in most PCMark Vantage, I will probably buy the 1Tb Spinpoint F3.
