Wasteland یکی از مهم ترین بازی ها در سبک Post Apocalyptic (بازی هایی که داستانشان در بعد از نابودی نسبی زمین رخ می دهد) است و سری Fallout الهام گرفته شده از آن هستند. حال سازنده اصلی دست به ساخت نسخه دوم به کمک حمایت مالی مردم زد و نسخه دوم در سال 2014 عرضه شد. نسخه Director's Cut شامل تمام آپدیت ها و بهبود های تازه ای برای بازی است که همراه با نسخه کنسول بازی عرضه شد.
