بعد از انتخاب بهترین بازی‌های سال در مراسم VGX Spike 2013 که این مقام به Grand Theft Auto V اعطا شد، گیم‌اسپات دقایقی پیش بهترین‌ بازی‌های سال را در بخش‌های مختلف مشخص کرد و بهترین بازی سال عنوان The Legend of Zelda: A link Between Worlds انحصاری کنسول ۳DS تعیین شد.
